About The Amazing Mr. Archer: Hi There! Believe it or not, it all started one Christmas season. One day when my mom went Christmas shopping, God shined down on her and led her to a book for me. Christmas morning came, and in my big stocking was a how to book entitled How to Make Balloon Cartoons by Aaron Flanders. I was an active little boy, but my health issues made it difficult for me to enjoy outside activities. This book was a great way to occupy my time and do something fun and creative. Little did I know that this book would change my life!
I liked being creative playing with Legos and playdough, but there was something magical about balloons. Using my imagination and exploring new balloon twisting techniques kept me intrigued for hours. Once I mastered all the techniques in that book, I wanted to explore other books and other styles of balloon twisting.
One day my aunt took me and few other friends to a baseball game. While everyone was busy watching the game, I realized I had some balloons in my pocket. So, I started making balloons. One kid came up to me and asked if I would make him a balloon. Soon after, two more kids, impressed by my balloon making, came up to me and asked I would make them something as well. It was not long before I have a flood of children and adults asking me to make dogs, teddy bears, hats, and other characters. My aunt told me to starting charging them 50 cents a balloon. My balloon work that day did not just get the attention of patrons who came to see a baseball game; it also caught the attention of the baseball stadium management team. They saw how my talent was bringing joy to their patrons, and offered me an opportunity to be a vendor. That day I learned that I could be successful as a balloon artist. Since then, I have established myself as a local balloon artist in North Carolina performing in restaurants, at birthday parties, libraries, festivals, conferences, and other social events. I have extended my knowledge and have become involved in the business and marketing aspects of balloon artistry, and have made balloon twisting my professional career. Although I have been in the business for over 20 years, I continue my education and now include balloon décor as a part of my skill set. My customers often call my work amazing, and my motto is, "If I can visualize it, I can Balloonatize it!"
My future goals includes establishing a birthday party center, with themed rooms, where patrons can enjoy balloons, entertainment, food and fun, themed to fit the most imaginative places. I would like to thank all my fans for their support, and I will always bring the smiles!
